Inspirational Messages

Last week I had the opportunity to spend time at a conference with the featured speaker, Stephen Peters. What a powerful message he had. It's always good to listen to someone who really redirects your thinking back to what's important in the arena of life-long learning. I was particuarly intrigued by his concepts of a Gentlemen's Club and a Ladies Club in elementary school to "Leave No Child Out". I've been investigating how to implement these programs in my own school for next year.

On another note, I attended three conferences on RtI implementation and how to use data to determine instruction. This isn't rocket science but there really needs to be a culture of trust in order for this to work as well as it has the potential to. Our real conversations concerning RtI and how we will use it in our school will start in ernest in January. Stay tuned.
